Beginnings & Endings!

The night before I left for my last weekend in Fire Island (*sniff*), I was hanging at O'Hurley's, an Irish pub a couple of blocks from my apartment. Surprisingly, the bar has proved to be one of my regular haunts these days, and it gets an astonishing array of folks coming through from all walks of life and from all over the world. I met these two very cool guys from Holland, Francois and Hans. Here's a pic of me with Hans and Franz below -- aren't they hunky?!?! Unfortunately, they each have a wife and kids at home, but hey, what happens at O'Hurley's, stays at O'Hurley's, right? ;-)

The next day is was off to Fire Island for our very last weekend of the season. It was a pretty low-key weekend, and sadly I didn't really get any good ceremonial group photos of the housemates or anything, but obviously we'll all carry with us some amazing memories of the Summer of '06!

Babysitting!!!

At the end of September, my sister and I babysat my niece Maya for an evening -- it was great to get to see her! It's amazing to me how totally engaged she is at six months of age!

32 years old??? How'd that happen?!?!?!

So I turned 32 on September 21. Ugh. It kinda felt like a big step into my "Middle Thirties," and I had a very strong sense of being way behind schedule with all the stuff I had hoped to accomplish by now. But then I had a few drinks, and it all seemed okay. I didn't actually plan any birthday celebration this year, but at the last minute, on the day of my birthday, Rachel and Christine met up with me for a drink at XES in Chelsea. How awesome are they?!?! And how moobalicious do I look in the second pic???
Then, the next day, my sister MaryBeth stopped by after finalizing the details for her new job at Amalgamated Bank, and we popped up to Fort Tryon Park to have a celebratory lunch at New Leaf Cafe.

It was a gorgeous day, so we decided to take a walk through Fort Tryon Park and hit the Cloisters. Here's a photo of me at the Cloisters with the Hudson River behind me.

After that, it was time for some serious partying at bar.vetro. Here I am with two of my favorite neighborhood sexpots, Joanna and Sarah -- am I the ladies' man or what?!?!

Okay, I'm in my early-mid-thirties now -- I better get crackin' on all those things I hoped to do by now! ;-)
