Breakfast at one of the cafes on the Pedestrian Mall in the CBD.
Here I am sitting along the riverfront in the South Bank recreation park.
Christine in the same spot. I decided to mix it up by adding some flowers to the pictoral composition.
One of the City Cat ferries that form part of the public transport system in Darwin. These sleek boats dart back and forth from one bank to the other as they zigzag down the Brisbane River.
View of the CBD from South Bank.
We decided to just hop on one of the ferries and take a spontaneous tour of the city from the river (for under US$2 -- not bad, huh?).
View of the city from the ferry.
Me on the ferry.
Going under Brisbane's Story Bridge
Hanging out the ferry's window and hoping there aren't crocs in the river...
Sunset in Brisbane as viewed from Kangaroo Point, where we were staying.
One of the coolest things about Brisbane is that the city has earmarked lots and lots of cliffs along the river as a free rockclimbing opportunity for anyone who's up for the challenge. It's a very social affair, with spectators laying out campchairs and having drinks while they watch their friends and total strangers try to scale what appeared -- to me anyway -- to be a rather intimidating rockface. After watching these climbers for a little bit, we caught our shuttle bus to the airport for our late night flight to Darwin...
Up next, Darwin!
