Reunion in Cairns!

On Monday, April 9, Christine and I flew from Melbourne to Cairns where we were looking forward to meeting up with Stacy and Patty. Stacy and Patty just happened to be vacationing for a couple of weeks in Australia, and had just arrived in Cairns the day before us. Thus, we were relying on them to have scoped out all the hot spots in town. Obviously, they didn't let us down...

Fortunately for us, P. J. O'Brien's recognized that after consuming precisely 4.7 beers, all male twentysomethings feel an irresistable urge to take off their pants in public, so they allowed the boys to compete on the poles as well.


We also hit the Reef Casino, but sadly, photos were prohibited inside, so here are Stacy, Christine and me doing our best Vanna White impressions just in front of the entrance.

Little did I know that this dinner would lay me up with some nasty food poisoning that would have me worshipping the porcelain goddess all night long. Good times! At least, I should be a little bit closer to squeezing into some tight AussieBums on Bondi Beach now... ;-)

By the way, somehow we all wound up staying at the same hotel, the Shangri La, a shnazzy five-star affair. Christine and I snagged some awesome discount through Australia's last-minute hotel-booking website, wotif.com, and had a fab room overlooking the marina. Here I am on the balcony of our hotel room.
